Preparations for
Prince Henry
's Barriers
, in a dispatch sent home by Tuscan agent Ottaviano Lotti
, on 14 [i.e. 4] Jan. 1610. Occupying pp. 1-3 of
a single folded sheet (extract on p.2), it is part of a parchment bound collection
of letters running from 26th March 1609-16 March 1612. It occupies pp. 1-3 and is
written in a folded sheet of paper.
Alla barriera, che mantiene fra due giorni il Serenissimo Principe, sono invitati
per vedere, i Signori Ambasciato ri Spagna, et Venezia, et non ci essendo hora ne lí Ambasciator di francia, ne quel
di Fiandra, mancano le contese di precedenza.
Translation
The ambassadors of
Spain
and Venice have been invited to the barriers, which
the prince
will hold in two days’ time. There is no quarrel about precedence as neither the French
nor the Flemish ambassador is here at present.
