Plans for Prince Henry 's tilt in a dispatch sent home by the Venetian ambassador Marc Antonio Correr on 17 [i.e. 7] Dec. 1609. It numbered 61 and occupies pp. 323-325 (extract on p. 324).



Il Principe e’ giunto hoggi in Londra per metter’in ordine un torneo, che intende far’il mese di Febraio prossimo o, et sara’ la prima uolta che si ha pubblicamente mostrato in tali essercitij. Ha prouato un poco di difficoltà nell’ ottenire licenza del Re’: tuttauia la Maesta’ Sua non lo ha’ uoluto discompiacere.

Translation
Today the Prince has arrived in London in order to arrange a tournament, which he intends to give the next February. It will be the first time he has appeared in public in such exercises. He had some difficulty in obtaining the King ’s consent, but His Majesty did not want to displease him.
