Philip Herbert , fourth earl of Pembroke and first earl of Montgomery , who had succeeded to the office in August 1626.

Field was the son of Rev. John Field and brother of Theophilus Field, bishop of Hereford (1635-6). As a member of the Children of the Queen 's Revels, he played in Cynthia , Poet ., and Epicene , and is mentioned in Bart. Fair ; he also appeared in Chapman's Bussy D'Ambois . He is included in the list of 'Principall Actors' in the Shakespeare First Folio (1623). He was the author of A Woman is a Weathercock (?1609) and Amends for Ladies (1610-11), and also collaborated with Fletcher and Massinger.
