Auditors' Patent Books for 1620-24, which contain
copies of letters patent granting offices, pensions, and honours. 'Mr Henshaw
's
office' refers to

Memorandum that wheras by obligacion of the
date hereof I Beniamin Iohnson am indebted to Iohn Hull Cittizen & founder of
london in Thirty and sixe poundes payable at Midsomer and
Michaelmas next by even porcions, Now I the sayd
Beniamin haue Assigned Iohn Hull to receiue and be payed his sayd debt out of my
Anuall Pencion payable to me out of Mr Henshawes office in the kings
majestes Exchequer at
westminster (that is to say) to receiue the xxxiijli to be due to me at Michaelmas next for my halfe yeares
Pencion & thother iijli of the sayd debt out of the residue of my sayd Pencion when
the same shalbe due, And to that end I doe desire and appointe my frend Mr Iohn
Burgis to see the sayd Iohn Hull satisfyed his sayd debt out of &
with my sayd Pencion to whom I haue placed ordered

Henshaw was a teller, one of the officers of the receipt in the exchequer. He succeeded to the office, a crown appointment, on 20 Oct. 1621, was admitted on 5 Nov. and had died by 25 Sept. 1625.
