A couple more scenes encoded, and an addition to the tagging tools.
I'm now about a third of the way through PG, and making good progress, although I've had to rewrite a lot of the PDF and XHTML processing code to take account of layout decisions. The results are being tested live on the server and locally. The end result will make it much more straightforward to tag drama in the future, especially using the rapidly-developing tagging tools HTML page.
I've tagged more of the Ibsen, and I'm beginning to engage with some of the issues regarding rendering of a dramatic text that contains a mix of prose and verse. There are various layout options that may involve using tables instead of the current rather simplistic approach. I've written to HT laying out the various options with their advantages and disadvantages, and we'll see what she prefers. The main worry is that there is existing code for rendering speeches and speakers which is used for an existing article, but all those examples occur within quotes, so if necessary we can write separate handlers that do different things based on the context, and avoid disrupting the rendering of the old article.
A, B and W reviews now complete and published, per NVD.
W's review is probably now ready for publication.

Tired of tagging up the same things in predictable ways that should be automatable in oXygen but aren't because I'm working in Editor mode, I've built a JavaScript/HTML tool to do automated tagging of a number of components including lists, paragraphs, bibl entries, line groups, and various other bits. Tested it during encoding of the prologue and Act 1 Scene 1. It makes encoding pretty quick.
This full-length translation will be part of volume 23, so I'm going ahead with encoding it. It's basically fairly straightforward, but there are some obvious issues around styling and margins, and I may have to write some special rules for in-volume editions of dramatic texts that will be more generous than we normally are with spacing.
I'm out of patience with the limitations of the old DTD, and in particular wanting to constrain many things more than they are constrained right now, so I've converted the DTD to an RNG schema, using Oxygen's automatic conversion (Trang has a bug which causes it to fail for me, in the absence of a catalog file, which I don't have). After doing the conversion, I painstakingly nuked a bunch of elements and attributes I don't need, and then converted all the files so they're pointing at the schema; I then added a Schematron rule for the content of <classCode>
(there will be many more) and tested validation. Everything that validated before still validates; the volume master files have issues because of @xml:base and duplicate ids resulting from XIncludes, but they had those problems before. We shall be able to move forward more effectively with this. There's no documentation built into the schema, of course, because there was none in the DTD, but we're not doing anything weird or radical, and I can add documentation if I need to.
Andersson review is done, except for keywords and the author bio. Still waiting for those.
