Added new sponsor on JS-R's instructions.
One new photo and two new abstracts from RR.
On instructions from MK. There's a large new area of the site relating to Oceania. I have a query in to MK and AM about how this should be linked from the main site.
Done on JS-R's instructions. New title and abstract for JL's talk.
Done on DR's instructions.
The Graves site had a link to the old references database (used by the markup folks). This was causing spiders etc. to hit the old db site, which has been removed as part of the rebuild of Chard, so the link was causing unwanted traffic to Cress, which is now handling that virtual domain.
Rachel C of history has very lightly annotated transcripts of diaries, text of correspondence and a bunch of miscellaneous records (church, tax, court, property, medical) documenting the lives of 2 women living together in early 19th C USA. She wants a way to substantiate or quantify her sense about the place of these people in their social world (nature of interactions with various other people, type of language used in describing or corresponding with others), temporal relationships between e.g. postings of medical symptoms and self-treatments. Primary end audience is her and her RAs to generate supporting evidence for claims made in published books and articles. If enough interesting results are obtained, the db-based research itself may be the basis of an article.
I got her to send me representative samples of her documents, some of which already include rudimentary category markers. I'll review them over the next week and report back. I suspect this will be an XML-based markup project.
Added a PDF poster and appropriate linking on JS-R's instructions.
Wrote a little script to batch convert the Siberian images and create thumbs. Needs imagemagick installed, though.
