Ricardo Serrano and I planned technical presentation on Flore at SFU this Friday. Martin Beaudoin informed us yesterday that he is connecting by video conference and not coming in person, leaving only Ricardo in the room. Exchanged some files, worked out priorities and exchanged ideas on how to present the information.

Met with Ali, Mary Sanseverino and Catherine Caws to decide on plan for Instructional Strategies and Technologies day of Course Redesign workshop:
9:00 - 10:00 large group
10:00 - 10:45 small groups
11:00 - 11:45 large group sees brief presentations on clickers (Mary), HotPot (Stewart), CMS (Catherine), Wiki/Blog (Ali)
11:45 - 12:30 breakout groups on technologies
12:30 - 1:30 lunch in CALL
1:30 - 2:30 library
2:45 - 3:45 end of day presentations etc.
4:00 presenter's debriefing
Also, I committed to attending all day Tuesday and Wednesday.

Read articles distributed by Mary on theoretical background for Course Redesign Workshop - emphasis on learning-centered as distinct from learner-centered or content-centered.
Also reviewed correspondence on plans for technology and instructional technology component, met with Ali and prepared notes for meeting for Friday with Mary, Ali, Catherine.

The Educational Technology Users Group (instructors, developers, sys-admins) of bccampus wants a one-hour demonstration of Quandary at their annual get-together in Kamloops May 23 - 25.
Middle of week for participants. They will have a concept map (day 1) and Learning Outcomes (day 2) established, will be spending the day on instructional strategies - so my presentation will start with typical outcomes and demonstrate how HotPot can be used to achieve those. Probably about an hour. In day 4 they assemble detailed course plan and then on day 5 present to each other.
Attended meeting with Ali on Course Redesign workshop being run by Mary Sanseverino. Mary is running a 5-day workshop for faculty members wishing to redesign their courses. She wants me to lead a session on Hot Potatoes on the morning of Wednesday May 2. She would also like another couple half-days during that week when I would be providing an IT perspective as needed on the Course Redesigns that the participants are doing.

Leva Lee of Educational Technology Users Group of bccampus (http://bccampus.ca/EducatorServices/ETUG) phoned to ask if I could do a demonstration of Quandary in Kamloops on May 24 and 25. Took notes, checked out their site and sent email to PGL for consideration.

Met with Joanne Turcoute to discuss the AP Testing scheduled for May 7th, 12-4, in lab b. We set up a trial run in lab B for April 11, 11-12. This is a Thursday during intersession. We need to get in earlier that week to learn the AP testing function, which I believe will be relatively easy, since it is now a function of the program.
