Spent much of the day working through the Rescuing Old Data paper with Greg, rewriting and expanding to answer some of the points raised by reviewers, and updating the text to reflect progress in the ColDesp and Transformer projects since it was written.
Completed and submitted grant assessment form for SSHRC.
I've now done 63 of the 163 B58 notes. Notes with multiple references to other docs are particularly time-consuming. There are lots of notes which remain unfinished, with instructions in them to look things up or find missing documents. These may need to be sanitized before a public release -- or maybe not, since they demonstrate work still needing to be done?
Spent an hour reading into the biblio for the grant application I'm reviewing.
...taking me to 44/163. These are taking longer than I'd hoped; finding the linked documents and creating links to them isn't very quick (although it's quicker now I've added the author and addressee to the head of the document display page). Also, today's notes contained longish bibliographies.
First reading of a grant application I have to review.
Met with Claire, Stew and Greg, and we compiled a list of 50 lectures that are either departmental choices for digitization, or our own choices in the absence of any preferences from the department. Created a new spreadsheet for these 50 items, and circulated it.
Finished my assigned set of five reviews.
