Stewart Butterfield was having technical issues, so we were asked to bring a bunch of bits and bobs and ourselves to ensure no problems in the presentation room.
Attended his presentation to students on utility of Humanities education for an entrepreneur.

After many circumstances conspiring against us, Greg and I finalized our proposal for DH2009 on the last day for submission. I spent most of today and a good part of the last two half days on this, which explains the large number of minutes worked for this one little post.

Discussed with Greg for a while and then wrote up a longer, more formal draft of our proposal for the DH conference next year. Still to do: assemble academic bibliography. Sent it to Martin for his input (which was get your bibliography together). Will go over it again on 12th and subsequently submit it.

Both Greg and I volunteered to be research subjects, so I'm out of the office from 3 today (and back by four, I hope, but can't be sure). Greg goes tomorrow.
PAB came down to discuss her three PhD projects, which are quite ambitious, with Greg and I. They'll need both hosting and programming support from us, so she'll need to enlist some faculty muscle to grab a big enough chunk of our time. One will involve substantial work on the IMT.
