Editorial meeting with SS, RVDB and JW. Decisions on Issue 9, responsibilities for 7 and 8, and other catchup.
Preparation for editorial meeting next week.
Chasing up reviews, creating poll for editors' meeting, etc.
Finished copyedit on first Issue 7 doc and passed it on to SS.
Guest-presenting intro to DH in KSW's class.
A lot of work in marshalling, tracking and acknowledging reviews for Issue 8; copyediting the first Issue 7 article; and revising the ODT output based on SL's copyediting of the first article.
The schema details are getting nailed down steadily, and I'm documenting them as we go. Today lists, nested and otherwise, got squared away. I also worked on the CSS for Author mode, which is a useful learning process for me. It can actually do a lot more than I thought, and we have quite a good working implementation at this stage. Previously it piggy-backed on the default TEI CSS, but I removed that because it was hard to override effectively, and re-implemented core stuff, then started adding the bits and pieces that remain.
This experience suggests we might be able to use Author mode for some very specific kinds of data editing. I'm glad I'm learning it.
Fighting with nested lists and things nested in lists in ODT. Very nasty indeed. TEI allows all sorts of stuff; ODT allows virtually nothing.
Working on the ODD file, the sample test document, and the ODT conversion.
Edited/encoded and published the meeting minutes from the telco last week.
