I'm getting familiar with programming Author mode and taking full advantage of the Java API using the JavaScript interface, and today I have a fairly sophisticated tagging function working that can insert a tag or add an attribute to an existing tag based on the context of the caret, and using the schema to retrieve the values required. It's a bit gnarly because some aspects of JS don't seem to work properly (array.indexOf() for instance seems to fail), but the API itself seems robust and well-documented. Also tagged a whole stack of bylines, updated documentation, added schema and rendering support for a milestone consisting of a string of asterisks, and other tweaks. 420 minutes.
Late duty.
Got the page-image diagnostics working, and found lots of errors; went through and fixed everything, including some non-lower-case filenames on the server itself. Backed up changes to Rutabaga and Squash. 200 minutes.
Added a lot of new stuff to the diagnostics today, rewriting the original JPG text-output diagnostics created by DL into our regular setup, and enhancing it a bit; fixed some bugs, added a new diagnostic for org ids, and left it with one thing still apparently badly broken (it finds over 5000 bad links to page-images that it says don't exist, but I'm pretty sure they do). More next week. 360 minutes.
Macs can't display the black triangle Unicode characters, so I switched to plus and minus signs for the TOC.
Did most of a detailed copy-edit of one of our articles, covering all the kuwashii stuff normally handled by SL, to see how time-consuming it will be if we have to do it ourselves. Seems doable, but we'll need detailed checklists, which I'm already building. 180 minutes.
Leaving early for appointment.
Made a little popup menu system constructed by JavaScript to make navigating the ever-growing documentation file easier; also added a thing that detects what platform you're on and automatically translates the Oxygen keyboard shortcut keys to the correct ones for your platform. Updated the documentation on the OCR and SQL-to-TEI processes to cover the work I did yesterday. 90 minutes.
Had to get DVPP sql-to-tei working before leaving.
LM is in the process of integrating images into the documentation, so I've added the required handling to make sure links to them work, and they end up in the right place in the documentation and products folders. 30 minutes.
