Trying to get better debugging reports from php. Modified the php.ini file in sarneil/www
error_reporting = E_ALL
display_errors = on

added some instructions to the .htaccess file

Also in the config.php.ini file, set display_errors to on.

Resulted in 505 internal server errors, so gradually removed things and eventually got the instance to reappear with no .htaccess file and the modifications to the php.ini and config.php.ini intact.

Still no success with creating a default plugin. The code snippet I took from the dataverse example caused a php error (presumably one of the calls is to a library it includes, but I haven't. The example from the documentation throws no errors, but does not write the link out that it is supposed to.

In late due to an appointment; leaving early (travelling tomorrow).

Created several more how-tos, improved documentation, tweaked the poem rendering, reworked the package build script so that it creates and includes PDFs of the presentations, and did a variety of other fixes and updates. This has been a good exercise in building an Oxygen authoring package for a project, and we can certainly reuse a lot of the ideas for MoEML and other projects.

I made a couple UVic templates that can be used in LibreOffice Impress.
To edit and make them available as templates:

1. Unzip 'UVic_Impress_templates.zip' and open one of the OTP files in Impress
2. The credits (list of names at top-right) and the running title (bottom-right) can be changed by switching to Master View (View->Master->Slide Master). Double click the element you want to edit, make your changes, and click the 'Close Master View' button in the 'Master View' applet hovering over your workspace.
3. Save it with the Template Manager (File->Template->Save As Template...).

To apply it to an open presentation:

1. Click on the 'Master Pages' button in the toolbar on the right of the Impress window to view all available templates (labelled 'Available for Use').
2. Click on the template you want to apply and the style gets applied to your presentation.

Worked all day on the encoding package for the English 500 class, learning how best to put together a project file with default validation and transformation scenarios, creating a template, scripting a build process, adding students to the personography, and beginning work on the documentation. I'll need to re-work the presentations from 2012 to create something more tailored to this purpose, and finish some how-to sheets (I've done one, and five more are planned).

Working most of the day on JTEI. Copyedited the intro to issue 7, worked on a couple of issues in the first encoded article for Issue 8, looked at, approved and copyedited a revised submission for Issue 8, put together a full report on Issue 8 status, chased up some revisions not yet submitted, and more.

Leaving a little early.
