In early, on late duty, and pushing to have things ready for DH conference.
I've got Simple output pretty well done, except for some obvious bugs in Simple itself (e.g. listPerson is allowed but not person). When those are resolved, there'll be a few more workarounds, but we'll basically be there. This has gone a little faster than I thought it would.
Created a MoEML presentation template, and started work on my own presentation. About half done.
Two reviews by Lingard never made it to me. Now encoded and up for proofing.
SMK is entering new words from our August 2014 work session with EB and PCS. This prompted a discussion of how to make entry of new data more efficient.
MDH and SMK set up keyboard shortcuts for inserting new entry templates, using a new feature in Oxygen v. 17. See Dictionary Editing Manual for details.
MDH and SMK also looked briefly at Author View in Oxygen, which allows setup of a data entry "front end". This is not worth doing when SMK is the primary data-enterer and already comfortable with XML. But it might be worth considering for a future workstudy person.
For both "front-end" data entry, and importing data from a spreadsheet, the difficulty is that we don't know how many of each field each entry needs. An entry might have one or more narrow transcriptions, one or more cits, etc. In cases like this, MDH thinks it's just as quick to enter the data directly into XML.
EB has shared a list of new words not in previous NLP dictionaries. SMK will use it as a test case for working out the steps to import it and check it against the existing database.
Updating web-dev site with current changes.
Received new links information.
I've rewritten my odd file generation and schema generation code so that it can use an optional external file containing a particDesc to create the values for sp/@who. This basically works, except that the ant build fails at the point where it's supposed to be generating the RNG files. I can't figure this problem out yet; it seems to be something to do with the new Oxygen 17 and the current build of the Oxygen plugin (at least, it worked before installing 17, and nothing seems to have changed in the relevant bit of my build file). Still working on it.
I've added a new textClass value (article-themed) which allows for a themed subsection in the print volume, and implemented the code. The first PDF build is now with the editors for checking.
Finished encoding the last article (an interview). Now onto the "special sections" functionality for the book.
