Stayed late catching up and backing up...

Spent much of the morning getting back up to speed after the vacation. Went through all my email and checked that no tasks had got lost in the shuffle; had a brief meeting with Mike Best and Andre regarding the need to upgrade the SVN client on Mustard, and after checking with Greg, submitted a request to sysadmin; had some email back-and-forth about the Colonial Correspondence project; documented my vacation days; started getting up to speed on the Icohtec site, which I'll probably have to take over again while Greg's away; etc. etc.

John came by with more changes, based on another proofing, so we worked through those and I posted the results into the DB. We're now waiting for one bit of translation, and a couple more reference checks, before generating the PDF for the printer again (with luck, tomorrow); then I'll send that to John, and he'll check it onscreen before sending it on to the print shop.

Mapped out a header for the first of the sample documents, with only a couple of pieces of info still missing (journal volume and issue, and page numbers). Sent that to the TEI list for some comments, along with a request for suggestions about how to encode the missing info.

Then continued encoding the bibliography of the sample doc. Decided on two things:

• Article titles will have trailing periods inside their tags (because sometimes they have question marks or exclamation marks instead, and it's simpler just to include whatever punctuation should be there, rather than try to add it in later).
• Dates should have no content, just a when attribute: <date when=2006"></date>.

I had a meeting with both Liz Wick and James Young from the Philosophy Department to officially demo the new website that has been in development. The meeting went well and they confirmed that they wished that the new website replace the current website in use.

After the meeting Stewart backed up the old Philosophy websites and uploaded the new website to the lang account. I then briefly reviewed the file structure with Stewart and then delivered the website maintenance document to Liz so that she would be able to learn how to properly operate the new aspects of the philosophy website.

Took 15 vacation days for my holiday (the remaining 3 were G&T, to reduce the G&T total).

Took three of my eighteen days' holiday absence as G&T to get the total down.
