Line-groups (stanzas) in block quotations were getting 0.25em space-after values which pushed the biblio reference info down a line, so I tweaked the XSLT to detect the situation and set the space-after to zero for the last line-group in a block-rendered quotation.
Cleared and cleaned my desk. It took an hour and a half. :-)
I got the version 1.8 file i/o completed and tested, so the new "transcriptional" feature is correctly saving and loading, and dictating the use of @facs or @corresp. Then I started working on the DocBook export/import. I'm mapping the new <desc> element in the <rendition> element (the annotation category data) to a tag like this in the equivalent docbook <member> element:
<property role="transcriptional">true</property>
For speed and simplicity, I'm also storing, for each individual annotation <div> in TEI, an @remap attribute (remap="facs", or remap="corresp") on the db <callout> element.
Next, I need to:
- Update the docbook-to-imt file accordingly, so round-tripping works
- Rewrite the Help/docs XSLT to take account of the new format.
- Convert all the IMT documentation files to 1.8, then to the new docbook format.
- Update the screenshot for the annotation category list, and the category editor screen.
- Update other Help file and tutorial stuff to explain the new boolean/checkbox.
On JT's instructions, changed the order of docs in the volume, and made some fixes to the McCreesh text. Only Helgason edits remain, along with some outstanding bio and French abstract bits. Talked to PVH about vetting my vol 17 cover; he's around HCMC next week, so that'll be a good time to get it done.
Set up LW with access to the network folder, and added a range of obscure typographic characters to her favourites on the Character Palette. She's now working on transcription. If there's time, on Monday, I'll get the actual document set up with her, so that she can do transcription half the time and markup the rest.
Met yesterday with CC and MB, where they requested following changes to French dept site (in addition to the events feed I posted about yesterday):
- on FAQ page, add list of Q's at top of page with anchors to answers later in page
- hide departmental life page and link in nav bar
- put newsletter page under news section (events page will go in that section too)
- put Department section in nav bar; in that put Faculty members, Sessionals, 3 staff pages, restricted admin section
- create the admin folder and put htaccess restriction on it.
Met with GR to discuss the final shape of the database, and came up with a new structure that actually has more tables but is a bit simpler. Created a new schema for it. I'll get on with implementation next week.
Working with Dave W to create accounts on the UVic calendar system. Each department will have their own. Dean's secretary will have access to all accounts. Dept secretary will have access to dept account. Also met with BLT to confirm presentation of events calendars on hums site:
Display events for next 30 days by date for all depts in faculty, include all fields but description, include link to UVic calendar for description
Display events for next 30 days sorted by dept, then by date, include all fields but description, include link to UVic calendar for description
Write page to generate text version for inclusion in email. All field but description, include link to entry in UVic Events calendar.
Got feedback from DP in Guelph on desired features and configurations for list. Implemented those.
Tested submission from member of group with plain text - fine.
Tested submission from member of group with accented text - fine.
Tested submission from non-member. Used admin interface to approve posting and it appeared. Everything seems to be working. Once she has fiddled with the list a bit I'll ready to import the list of email address she's provided to populate the list.
