Helped AY set up a contribute connection to the dev site for philosophy. She will make a number of content edits and then sometime next week we'll make the site live on the production account and then we'll need to create a new connection to that folder.

Met with two candidates for the Renaissance position in the English department. Talked about services HCMC offers, their specific research interests and what kind of projects we could jointly do: database of Shakespearean performance, parsing MathML.
The placenames were given a "final" edit. Then, I moved on to the various tagging elements in 1852. Mostly through the more common people and places. I expect that it should take roughly 5 days to complete all tagging and page-break tags. Meanwhile, Leanna is roughly 1/3 into the page-break tags for 1853!
reviewed CMS requirements document and submitted about ten questions to DW - some are just wording, some are substantial

The main GUMICH site failed to regenerate entirely, but as Pat has been reworking those files manually, I don't think there's any issue there.
Reported to JL and MF. Awaiting their go-ahead to move the sites to the production account. Logged time for regenerating previously. I had forgotten to report results until now.
Got another couple of reports of problems with Page not Found error at end of process of applying for a password for the teachers' sections of the GUMICH sites. Turns out there are two registration forms - one of them works and one of them fails.
I recommended to MF that we
- keep the page at http://www.canadianmysteries.ca/teachers/register/indexen.php
- make any changes in it that appear in the newRegister.php page
- a redirect in the http://www.canadianmysteries.ca/en/newRegister.php page so the user goes immediately to the http://www.canadianmysteries.ca/teachers/register/indexen.php
Am waiting to hear back from them.
Met with DS and a couple of help desk guys at AR's suggestion to make sure we're all clear on which requests HCMC should deal with (questions specific to research or teaching projects) and which requests HelpDesk should deal with (hardware and institutionally supported software, network connectivity). Wrote a short blurb on what HCMC does and types of queries helpdesk might get that should be shuffled to HCMC for inclusion on their internal documentation. Will also inform people currently relying on us for user support on research projects to continue to contact us on questions around those projects.
Much debate today on how to mark up entries which have variations in narrow transcription, translation, source, or any combination of the above [<var>s in the Lexware system].
We concluded as follows:
-All the <forms> in an entry should have the same phonemic transcription. Ewa will need to make sure this is the case as she goes through the c-rtr, s-rtr,and phar-w files.
-For entries where the narrow transcriptions are different, but the <def>s are the same, all the narrow transcriptions can be collapsed into one <form>, and all the <bibl>s within the <sense> element can be collapsed into one <def>. SEE FOR EXAMPLE: sʕʷáʔʕʷaʔ "cougar".
-For entries where the senses are different, there should be a separate form for each sense, even if the narrow transcriptions are the same. SEE FOR EXAMPLE: ṣạpḷị́ḷ "flour, bread"

PIR now moving to journals.uvic.ca site, so on the site on web.uvic.ca I replaced the Call.php and index.html files with redirect pages to the appropriate places on the journals site.
