Work completed today:

• Pushed the updated map code up to the main site, and tested with IE. No problems.
• Added <ref type="map" cRef="[mapId]#[placeId]"> handling so that you can link directly to a spot on the map from any TEI document.
• Updated the Guidelines document to include this info.
• Added more detailed explanations to the map gallery page.
• Updated the Development page to include details of the maps, and other recent changes.
• Added a Maps link to the main menu.
• Added info and a link to the Indexes page.
• Marked up the first two maps (by date) in the collection, so that there are some obvious examples of annotated maps to look at. We now have six marked-up maps.
• Updated V52105.xml to include two footnotes pointing to the map which was extracted from this despatch, which is marked up.
• Various testing and minor tweaks.

Still working unsuccessfully on the QSortFilterProxyModel problem, but I've now discovered that a bug in that class was fixed in QT 4.6.2, so it may be solved by an update which I'll do tomorrow.

I almost finished entering material in the note element in names.xml

I made some minor spelling revisions in:

• SKng-1899-Oslo-032-01.xml
• SKng-1899-Oslo-163-01.xml
• SKng-1899-Oslo-294-01.xml

On late duty.

These features are now complete:

• Placename features on marked-up maps now link to a popup showing the placename information.
• Place popups now retrieve reference lists which include links to specific maps where these maps include links to the places.
• Navigating to a map with the xml:id of a place as the hash on the URI results in that place being outlined and centred, and its popup displaying.
• Licence info is displayed underneath all the maps, as well as the map gallery.
• Various minor tweaks to UI and layout.

I think this is basically ready to go now. I'll push it up to the site tomorrow morning.

The three of us got together today to determine where to go next and where we're at. I showed Katie how to use the database, taught her how to input data, and gave her the instructions I had made up.

She is going to work on the database and fill in all the citations that are missing from already inputted relationships. Then she is going to work on the catalogue of ships (bk2) of the Illiad.

I'm going to finish up as much Apollodorus as possible within the hours I have left (as soon as I find out how many I have left). I have emailed Katie links to these blogs, the map, and the editor. I've told her she can email whenever she has a question.

Dr. Bowman has many questions she wants answered from various members of the team, and plans to send out emails to us all in the next day or two.

Katie, once Katie's on here, and Dr. Bowman, are going to check this and make sure they agree.

Encoded the biblio (in the process updating some of my documentation on the blog). This is now up on the proofing site.

Cleaning up dead code; preparing to re-integrate the regexp filter for the xml:id list view. I'm having trouble re-understanding some of my original code, using the QSortFilterProxyModel...

I continued to work on the notes element in the names file.

I made minor changes and corrections in:

I uploaded all of the above.

The maps will eventually mostly have geo coordinates relating them to the area they cover, and I've now modified the code which creates KML files from place information in the places collection so that it can also create KML based on a map document id. This enables us to create a link to Google Maps, passing the KML URI to Google, to see the area laid out over a modern-day Google map.

Can't test this till we have it up on the main site, because it works from a hard-coded site URI which is supplied to Google.
