BC wanted a set of cycling images to appear on the home page of the site. I grabbed the code Clifton and I wrote for the history department and tweaked it a little to work on this site. Biggest issue is that the layout of the templates more or less imposes an image width of 500 pixels, and a maximum height of about 200 pixels. That means that the original images have to be high enough resolution and composed in a way that I can extract a 200 by 500 pixel chunk that is aesthetically acceptable. BC eventually came up with half a dozen which I could edit into something visually OK at 200by500, plus a couple of images I tiled (he was OK with that treatment for those images) and a couple where the pixellation was acceptable to him.
