Setting up a Jenkins server to build eXist dist-war

Posted by mholmes on 09 Dec 2011 in Servers, Activity log, Documentation

As of today, builds are working on Plum. We learned:

  • For some reason https: connections to the SF repo fail, but http: works. No idea why, but teiJenkins has working https:, so we should be able to figure it out.
  • Log parse rules for the Console Log Parser have to be specified with a full absolute path.
  • Log parse rules take some working out, because of mentions of "error" instead of use of it, and many javac warnings we don't care about.
  • When the build artifact(s) you care about have unpredictable file names (as in the case of ours, which has the SVN rev number built into its filename), it can be tricky to pull them or push them somewhere else to make them available. We're still working on that.
