Phthia

Posted by simon on 20 Jun 2012 in Activity log
In Apollodorus 3.13.8 Phoenix is blinded for supposedly having seduced his father's concubine Phthia. Phthia is currently marked up as a place, which is wrong, but there are two Phthias and thus I don't know how to re-mark it. I looked on Perseus but it has no info. Wikipedia figures there are four Phthias, the one who had a bunch of sons by Apollo, the concubine, the daughter of Phoroneus and the Niobid. Both wikipedia and Perseus also identify the concubine as Clytie or Clytia but that name doesn't show up anywhere else in Apollodorus either. So the question becomes: is this a new character, and if so, should Clytia or Phthia_3 be "aka"s? On a different note, do we have a place for the House of Peleus? ~Simon
