Mounting TAPoR samba share on Mac OS

Posted by gregster on 26 Oct 2007 in Servers, Activity log, Documentation

As of September 29, 2008, THIS HAS BEEN UPDATED:
Working with sysadmin to get samba shares to mount on the OS X desktop required editing/adding a file:
/Library/Preferences/edu.mit.Kerberos
so that it looks like this

##########################
[libdefaults]
	dns_fallback = "no"

[logging]
	admin_server = "FILE:/var/log/kerberos/kadmin.log"
	default = "FILE:/var/log/kerberos/krb5lib.log"
	kdc = "FILE:/var/log/kerberos/krb5kdc.log"

[realms]
	OAK.UVIC.CA = {
	        kdc = RAT.oak.uvic.ca.:88
	        kdc = hawk.oak.uvic.ca.:88
	        kpasswd_server = RAT.oak.uvic.ca.
	}

	UVIC.CA = {
	        kdc = dingo.uvic.ca.:88
	        kdc = margay.uvic.ca.:88
	        kpasswd_server = dingo.uvic.ca.
	}
##########################

This should provide desktop mounts - as long as the user has a share on the SAN set up, of course.
