Machine glitches resolved

Posted by gregster on 20 Jun 2008 in Labs

Two issues arose in the last few days:
1) Lab B Teacher station had inexplicable, intermittent connectivity issues, but only in regard to Sanako interactions. I figure that the problems were too weird to be normal network issues. That machine is one of the disastrous AOpen cases that were constantly on the edge of overheating. So... I pulled the drive out and put it in one of our newer purchases (basically flipped a few machines around, deployment-wise) and re-jigged drivers and so forth. The machine seems to be fully functional (cool and quiet too!).

2) C-03 wouldn't boot - no idea why. Didn't care enough to figure it out. Rebuilt with Bart/Ghost. Back in business in 15 minutes. Seems to be fine now. If something weird happens to it again I'll look at replacing it with the new build on my bench.
