Here's what I've been up to for the past week and a bit:

- checked out the Ashton Armoury's collections (heaps of neat stuff!)

- optimized and uploaded images from the 5th (BC) Regiment Museum and UVic Special Collections

- began uploading images from Canadian War Museum (more to come - they have very open rights on digitized material!)

- collected secondary sources

- researched themes

- produced draft of "A Navy of Her Own": The Naval Service of Canada

- tested draft on Wordpress, with images: http://hcmc.uvic.ca/cgtw/theme-4/a-navy-of-her-own-the-naval-service-of-canada/

- went back to BCAM to photograph V.R. Pauline's artifacts. Turns out he was at the Red Baron's funeral! Small world...

I'm going to head back to the 5th (BC) Regiment Museum and the Ashton Armoury soon to get ahold of some of their trench maps, which the library can digitize. Mr. Doug Rollins, the librarian at BCAM, is going to add some research materials and photographs to a folder I've created for him in Dropbox. My themes might end up getting a few more categories as I do the write-ups, so I'll update my theme map as I go. See you all tomorrow!
