Database of images for GRS

After conversation with LB, talked with Greg about best way to implement a web-based database of images with metadata for use by faculty and TA's in the GRS department. They currently have a standalone FileMakerPro7 app. It's about 2.8 gigs. We're not sure yet whether the db contains the image data (blob) or only a pointer to a file on the filesystem somewhere. Looks like they scan to Tiffs, then process to jpgs. Found both jpgs and tiffs on the computer. Thinking about something like Gallery if we don't modify some of our previous (i.e. Martin's Roman Law) code. Will get a demo copy of current release of FM to see what export options it has, then meet two archeologists next week and likely get a copy of the db to see what we can do with it.
