Not sure how many people are aware of this site, but it is very cool. Sideny Allinson (I think) has several and there is a good collection of things about Victoria.

I wanted to share this comment from a history teacher with everybody:
"Regarding the process for approval, the Ministry of Education no longer passes judgment on websites as they tend to be ephemeral. However, they don't even do a good job on resource review any more. There used to be calls for the resources and then teachers would review the materials, write summaries with educational tips/suggested uses and approaches, and the catalogue would be published. All that is now supposedly done through individual contractors. I used to work on the resource calls as they were excellent pro d. However, I never bothered with the contracted individual resource reviews. I don't think the catalogues are actually all that up do date. Further, I think that the SS 11 curriculum will be up for review in the next two or three years. If you put your ear to the rails, you can hear the thrum of the train coming down the track. I would think that by 2015 we will see a new version of the curriculum, more in line with the thinking you see coming out of New Brunswick and Quebec."

Because of the demand for rooms for Congress, the team will meet in the History Reading Room. This is a one time exception as few students are on campus and all other reasonable space is booked

Please ensure that you have updated activity and hours for the end of the month. I will run a report on the weekend for us to review at our Monday meeting. My general practice will be to produce a monthly activity and hours summary for review by the project steering committee.

It was great meeting you all today and I'm looking forward to working with you all through the summer! I thought I would post one of my favorite newspaper articles from the project I mentioned today. Blayney was the oldest of the Scott brothers and the event that earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross is outlined in the article on the left. It's a pretty unbelievable story!
Happy hunting tomorrow.
