TEI 2017 Victoria, British Columbia, Canada November 11 - 15

The University of Victoria is located on the traditional lands of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. Specifically, it is located on the ancestral land of the Lekwungen family group, Checkonien and Sungayka village. According to Cheryl Bryce of the Songhees Nation, the site “was known for camas harvesting, trading and cultural and spiritual practices.”

Limited SWAG

We've tried to limit the amount of waste that we give you at this conference. You will likely notice that we don't hand out the pens, USB drives, or plastic mesh bags that often comprise the SWAG (and later landfill) you may have received at conferences past. Instead, we have decided to spend our resources on meals and deluxe coffee breaks.
