Introduction for Researchers
One of the HCMC's mandates is to support research in the Humanities at UVic. If you're a researcher, the HCMC has a number of ways of assisting or collaborating with your research work.
- If you are considering applying for a grant, we can help in various ways with those components of your application that deal with technology.
- If you'd like help with planning or managing a project (website, utility program, database or multimedia work), we offer consulting, workstations and other resources.
- If you'd like help with the development of your project, we offer highly skilled developers, advanced software and workstations, and more.
- If you need a place for data preparation or development contractors to work under supervision of expert developers, we can provide that.
The HCMC offers its services at no charge to members of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Victoria. If you are not a member of the Faculty of Humanities, please contact our Head of Research and Development to discuss your situation and how the HCMC may be able to assist. To maximize our ability to accommodate your request fully, please provide as much advance notice as possible. The demands on our time far exceed the supply, without advance notice we may not be able to integrate your request with the overall work flow. The amount of notice necessary varies with the size and complexity of your project - large projects may need months of advance notice.
