This tool offers an alternative method for searching and exploring the HISCO Tree Of Occupational Groups. You can read more about HISCO here and here.
All data is from the History of Work website. The only alterations have been to address common character-encoding issues.
You can either use the drill-down interface that appears at launch, or search the dataset. Partial matches for names, descriptions, and HISCO codes are acceptable search terms. For example, searching for ‘forest’ will return more results than ‘forestry’.
A useful feature is the ability to run searches against any word in occupation names and descriptions. Simply hold down the ‘alt’ key and click a word to run your search.
