mysql_real_escape_stringbefore inserting into the DB.
After some very odd behaviour on GUMICH sites we discovered that the registrar for GUMICH domains has reversed the settings we changed last year, meaning a whois query for the three sites shows canadawebhosting as the registered DNS entry.
I logged in to the system and changed the www pointer A record to point to 188.8.131.52 (because an A record apparently needs to be an IP address) - I did this for all the sites.
NOTE: in order to make the changes I *had to* remove an mx record for mail. The existing entries were:

I found the pdfs in the $homedir/www/quests/20/support/ directory - rather than moving them I copied them to the folder referred to by the link ($homedir/www/quests/20/evaluations/).
The Canadian Mysteries site consists of a production site containing 12 mysteries, a containing shell and 30 mysteryquests; and a database-driven development site.
